A controversial homeless camp has been busted by police as stolen goods were uncovered.

Staffordshire Police swooped on the the encampment on Station Walks, in Newcastle-under-Lyme .

The force carried out the operation on Friday afternoon, September 12. A number of suspected stolen bicycles were found by officers as a marked police van parked up was seen in the street.

The push bikes were then seized amid what police have branded "ongoing enforcement efforts" at the local encampment.

High-visibility patrols will be continuing to take place in the area, with action to be taken where necessary, police say.
