A taxi driver was left gobsmacked after stumbling across a rare white wallaby crossing the road.

Jag Alli, who works for All Night Cars in Dartford, was travelling along Green Street Green Road, near the junction with Gore Road, when the bizarre sight stopped him in his tracks.

The cabbie originally thought the strange animal was a white kangaroo but the masquerading marsupial has since been confirmed to be an albino wallaby.

“I had to stop my car and hold up the traffic because the kangaroo was trying to cross the road,” Mr Alli, 39, told KentOnline.

“I was shocked. My passenger took pictures, but I said: ‘This isn’t cool, this is big, this is not normal’. You don’t just see a kangaroo at the side of the road.”
