STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — This fall, J’s on the Bay celebrates 11 years in business by embracing its origins as a classic luncheonette. Located at 1189 Bay Street in Rosebank, the casual eatery reintroduces nostalgic comfort foods with a gourmet twist, honoring its down-home past while looking toward a dynamic, growing future.

Chef and owner Joe Salimini, who takes over the former Bay Street Luncheonette in 2014, marks the milestone with new menu items and the return of longtime customer favorites. His wife, Francesca, rejoins the team full-time—a familiar face many patrons remember from the restaurant’s early days. Now that the little ones are fully back in school she can return to work, said Francesca.
