ELYRIA, Ohio — Lorain County officials announced Tuesday that safety lighting will soon be installed on towers being built to support the county’s shift to a new emergency communication network, after a resident raised safety concerns about the missing lights at a Lorain County Commissioners meeting last month.
Lorain County Administrator Jeff Armbruster shared the update at Tuesday’s Lorain County Commissioners meeting. According to Armbruster, the State of Ohio told his office Tuesday that it has all necessary permits in place to run fiber optic cable beneath railroad tracks at Lorain County Fairgrounds.
“That cable will go in very quickly and we will be able to move forward on connecting the power to all the towers,” Armbruster said. “At that point, the lights will be turned on.”
