ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — A 21-year-old man faces more than 30 charges in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins across western North Carolina, the Alexander County Sheriff's Office said.

Kayne Lavance Alford-Bruce was arrested Sept. 12 in the Bethlehem area after deputies received a report of a suspicious person looking into vehicles, authorities said.

The arrest is connected to an investigation launched in May into a series of vehicle break-ins in the community. Deputies responded to Bowmans Court early Friday morning, where they encountered the suspect.

Alford-Bruce was apprehended in the nearby Wittenburg Springs Development, ACSO said.
