STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One lucky lottery player on Staten Island is celebrating after winning a top prize in the Take 5 game.

A winning ticket — worth $10,964 — was sold at Forest Convenience & Gift, located at 746-748 Forest Ave., in West Brighton. The ticket was sold for the evening drawing on Sept. 11, according to the New York Lottery.

Two other top-prize tickets from the same drawing were sold in New York City. One prize each was sold at Farragut Gas Inc., located at 4210 Farragut Rd., in Brooklyn, and at Castle Financial Services, located at 2173 Broadway, in Manhattan.

Take 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39, with drawings held twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
