It was determined last year by an annual study that Pennsylvania wasn’t amongst the purportedly top happiest states in the United States.

Well, the latest iteration of the study proves that 365 days can make quite the difference .

Conducted and published by WalletHub , Pennsylvania ranks in the top 20 happiest states in America in 18th overall. This is a solid four slots up from the Keystone State’s 2024 ranking of 22nd overall.

Each state was graded across three main dimensions — “Emotional & Physical Well-being;” “Work Environment;” and “Community & Environment” — as well as relevant sub-metrics such as “Physical Health Index” and “Number of Work Hours.” Data from sources including the U.S. Census Bureau was also leveraged.
