Five individuals are in custody following a shooting incident in Halifax on Friday evening. The Halifax Regional Police responded to reports of an assault involving weapons on Intercolonial Street around 5:50 p.m. Shortly after, additional reports indicated that shots had been fired.
According to a news release from the police, all individuals involved in the shooting fled the scene but were "quickly located and arrested." As of now, no charges have been filed against them. One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently hospitalized.
In response to the incident, police have closed off Intercolonial Street, Hood Street, and a section of Kempt Road. Authorities are advising the public to avoid these areas while the investigation continues.
