Drivers are facing a 13-mile diversion when a Leicestershire road closes for three weeks. The warning has been issued for Ashby Road in Boundary, near Ashby .
The closure will be in place from the Burton Road roundabout for approximately 800 metres, to allow carriageway repairs to take place. Leicestershire County Council said the closure was needed to "ensure public safety" in the area while the work took place.
A 13.2-mile diversion will be in place for drivers. The council said that as the work progressed, there would also be restricted access to Heath Lane north and south of Ashby Road. A temporary 30mph speed restriction will also be put in place around the closure for the duration of work, said the council.
