Fans of Coronation Street were left reeling this week when the beloved Tyrone Dobbs, portrayed by Alan Halsall, was hit by a car in a shocking scene.

The fan-favourite on the soap, which saw one former cast member tease a comeback, became the victim of a hit-and-run incident involving Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), who are embroiled in Carl Webster's (Jonathan Howard) car theft plot.

The pair swerved to avoid hitting Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), but instead crashed into Tyrone, resulting in him being rushed to hospital.

Carla Connor, played by Alison King, had the difficult task of informing Tyrone's wife, Fiz (Jennie McAlpine), about the accident, hinting at significant consequences for their family.
