FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WTVD) -- Fort Bragg celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony this week for a new child development center, set to be the largest on the base.
Designed to serve 338 children, it aims to address the needs of over 1,000 military families currently on a waitlist for one of the 10 existing centers.
Officials are optimistic that this expansion will ease the wait and enhance support for military families.
"The need has just gotten louder," said Margaret Lilly, chief of child and youth services at Fort Bragg.
The facility is expected to open its doors by 2027.
