Police cordoned off a major Coventry road after an unexploded bomb was found. It was discovered in Radford earlier today (September 13).
Officers responded to reports of a hand grenade in a garden on Beake Avenue. Traffic was diverted as a major cordon was erected near Chesholme Road.
Teams from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD) were called in at around 11.15am. Checks were conducted, and the device was confirmed to be empty, Coventry Police said.
Beake Avenue has since reopened. Traffic is flowing smoothly this evening, according to West Midlands Roads.
