DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - Ballet Des Moines is launching “Ballet Without Barriers,” a program aimed at making the arts more accessible, KCCI reports.
The company will host adaptive dance and Pilates classes . According to the Ballet Des Moines, these classes are open to dancers of all ages and abilities.
Descriptions will be offered for each performance in the 2025-26 season, with recorded narratives providing visually impaired or blind audience members information on the performances, including movements, costumes, and sets. Written descriptions of the music will be available for hearing-impaired individuals.
