A major milestone is approaching for the significant construction project on Highway 39 near Weyburn. According to the latest Weekly Orange Zone Construction Update from the Ministry of Highways, released Friday morning, paving on the new roundabout and twinned highway segment is expected to begin Monday, weather permitting.
The $29 million project, which began in February, includes the twinning of 5.8 kilometres of Highway 39 and the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection with Highway 13. Crews are currently finalizing concrete work at the roundabout while placing and packing sand and gravel for the new twinned lanes in preparation for the upcoming paving.
The entire project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
