The Brisbane Lions needed a new forward leader to emerge, and pilot another premiership assault to ensure the breaking of their 21-year title drought was no flash in the pan.

But now that he has attained those heights, the 20-year-old declared he and his fellow young Lions must cement themselves as leaders in their cause, as he seeks to orchestrate another MCG boilover.
