Erie Street Market offered a unique mix of attractions Saturday.

“We’re killing two birds with one stone,” said John Staab of Toledo. “We shopped at the market and now we’re going to the international festival. And then we’ll swing by the market again; we couldn’t carry all the stuff we need, so we have to make a second trip anyway.”

The retired antiques dealer talked as he helped his girlfriend, Bonnie Wicks of Maumee, empty two plastic bags into the trunk of a car. There were carrots, ornamental pumpkins, butternut squash, a gourd, two ears of fresh corn, and cinnamon bread.

“The international festival, it just sounds interesting,” Ms. Wicks said, noting that she likes to listen to some of the music. “I think it’s wonderful that they’re tying the two things together.
