ADVANCE, N.C. — An 18-year-old man from Advance, North Carolina, was arrested Friday after authorities said he made threats of mass violence against the University of Louisville in Kentucky, according to the Davie County Sheriff's Office .

The Davie County Sheriff’s Office said it was called by the university’s police department for assistance at about 4:43 p.m. Investigators determined the threats originated from an address on Bingham & Parks Road in Davie County.

Deputies responded to the home and identified Michael Tedder, 18, as the person responsible.

He was charged with one count of communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property and was placed in the Davie County Jail with no bond, awaiting his first appearance, deputies said.
