MCCAYSVILLE, Ga. — A Blue Alert pushed to phones across the Triad on Saturday came from Georgia authorities searching for a man accused of shooting a police officer, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The GBI said Timothy Craig Ramsey, 26, is wanted in connection with the shooting of McCaysville Police Capt. Brantley Worley.
The incident happened around 11:10 p.m. Friday on 1st Street in McCaysville, Georgia. Ramsey ran from the scene wearing a bright green chemical-resistant suit and a dark-colored motorcycle helmet, the GBI said.
He was described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 185 pounds, with long brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen on foot in the McCaysville area.
