Government has given details of an earlier commitment to provide financial compensation to people who fought the wildfires.
Premier John Hogan was at Sacred Heart Academy in Marystown Saturday to address the annual convention of The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Fire Services.
Government will give a $500 one-time honorarium to volunteer firefighters and ground search and rescue members who gave of their time and skill.
Local fire departments and ground SAR teams who deployed volunteers in response to the wildfires will get a one-time honorarium of $10,000.
