The BC Wildfire Service is responding to an out-of-control wildfire on the Sunshine Coast that first sparked Saturday afternoon.
Just before 1 p.m. Saturday, the wildfire measured 2.3 hectares in size and BCWS says it is not yet under control.
The fire was found along the Wood Bay Forest Service Road, north of Secret Cove. Two helicopters are attacking by air, and one initial attack and one response officer are on site responding to the fire. Local fire department resources are assisting BCWS with the blaze.
The wildfire is suspected to be human-caused.
“Humans start wildfires in several ways, either by accident or intentionally,” states the service.
No further information has been provided.
