CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - It wasn’t the most impressive performance, but the Cyclones did what they needed to do to win.
Although they were a 21.5 point favorite, Iowa State struggled at times against the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday.
After leading 17-10 at the half, a pair of Red Wolf field goals narrowed the Cyclones’ lead to 1 point. However, Iowa State once again made the plays when they mattered, including a touchdown from running back Abu Sama in the fourth quarter to go up 24-16.
Rocco Becht completed 14 of 25 passes for 265 yards and a touchdown. He also threw his first interception of the year. Carson Hansen added 116 yards on the ground.
After celebrating this win, Iowa State will prepare for their next game against Arizona on September 27th
