INDIANAPOLIS — There is an ongoing debate about how to hold parents accountable when their kids break curfew in Indianapolis.
City-County Councilors believe fines could help curb youth violence, but cannot agree how much that should be. Right now, there are no fines.
"If you have a law without some kind of penalty attached to it, all it is is a suggestion," said City-County Councilor Joshua Bain (R-District 21).
The original proposal included a written warning for the first violation, $500 for the second and $1,500 for any further violations.
