BOWLING GREEN — One homecoming was a celebration.

The other was a statement.

Eddie George’s return to Ohio got real Saturday night as Bowling Green brought down the house on homecoming, thrilling its biggest crowd here in a decade with a 23-13 thumping of Liberty.

This was a vision beginning to come to life.

And on Saturday, we saw it.

Bowling Green’s team buses left their hotel in Findlay four hours before the game, and, when they approached campus on I-75, the players and coaches were blown away. Tailgaters blanketed the flat grass fields around Doyt Perry Stadium as far as the eye could see.
