JENA, La. (KALB) - September is National Recovery Month, a time to raise awareness about mental health and substance abuse recovery.
On September 13, LaSalle Parish Celebrate Recovery hosted its second annual Walk for Recovery in hopes of helping people move from the darkness of addiction into light.
Lori Andrews, one of the organizers, said substance abuse remains a major issue in the parish.

She added that the event was designed to show people that recovery is possible.
“There’s a place to find hope.
