Norfolk State suffered a tough 60–10 loss on the road against Big Ten opponent Rutgers on Saturday at SHI Stadium. The Spartans dropped to 1–2 on the season, while the Scarlet Knights improved to 3–0 with the dominant win.

Despite the lopsided score, the Spartans found bright spots on both sides of the ball. Running back Kevon King led the offense with 59 rushing yards on seven carries, including a 25-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. X’Zavion Evans added 54 yards on eight carries. Quarterback Otto Kuhns completed 8 of 20 passes for 90 yards, with DreSean Kendrick hauling in three receptions for 48 yards.
