San Diego FC remains in first place in the Western Conference with four regular-season games left, controlling their destiny for securing home-field advantage throughout the Major League Soccer playoffs.

Minnesota United’s 3-1 win Saturday night at Snapdragon Stadium was the latest and most striking of a troubling trend for the expansion club that has been so good in so many ways.
