Kawhi Leonard and Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer are now at the center of controversy over a potentially illicit payment. Journalist Pablo Torre revealed that Leonard had signed a sponsorship deal with Aspiration. Surprisingly, the agreement allegedly required Leonard to fulfill no obligations to receive a $28 million endorsement deal.
In response, former CEO of Aspiration Andrei Cherny challenged Torre’s report. He insisted that the contract actually contained three pages detailing specific duties Leonard was expected to perform.
Despite Cherny’s rebuttal, Torre remained unconvinced. He publicly fired back on X and shared the thoroughness of his reporting.
