A cool breeze refreshed early visitors of the Piñata Fest on Friday. The Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce (RHCC) organizes the event annually. This year, the opening ceremony included the New Mexico color guard presenting the colors and the 44th Army Brass Band playing the "Star Spangled Banner." The highlight for kids followed the opening ceremony with the first piñatas that were ready to break. Mellissa Urban-Cobos, RHCC executive director, said that the company Sparklight provided the bucket truck that was used to hang the piñatas.
