One of the most surprising unders was in the Bengals vs. the Browns . The total closed at 47.5, and the teams didn’t even come close to hitting that mark. Cincinnati won 17-16, meaning the under hit with a 14.5-point cushion.

The most likely reason why unders were all the rage in Week 1 is due to most starters getting minimal playing time in the preseason. It’s rare to see a team play its starters in all three preseason games, and if the first-stringers do see the field, they’re normally on the sideline after the first half.
