Paddy McGuinness struggled to hold back tears as he announced the death of his 'good mate' Ricky Hatton on his BBC Radio 2 show.
The Stockport-born boxer, 46, was discovered dead at his home in Hyde on Sunday morning, September 14.
An emotional Paddy, 52, learned the news of the boxing legend's passing as he presented his Sunday morning show from Salford today.
The radio host and TV presenter made the announcement after taking some time to process the news while playing a series of songs, reports the Mirror .
He told his listeners: "Apologies everyone just had to play a couple of songs back to back there. I've just learned this terrible news that... a great mate of mine has passed away, Ricky Hatton."
