PHILADELPHIA — Brent Venables raved about Reggie Powers during fall camp, saying he emphasized to his coaching staff the need to get the sophomore safety on the field more. Venables later referred to Powers as a “stick of dynamite” in the Oklahoma secondary.

Oklahoma State transfer Kendal Daniels was the Sooners primary Cheetah player — at the nickelback/strongside linebacker spot in Venables’ defensive scheme — through two games. Daniels had some loud hits against Michigan and got the starting nod again versus Temple.

However, it was Powers who had the more explosive day during OU’s visit to Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday . Powers played the most snaps (47) of anyone on the Sooners’ defense against Temple, according to Pro Football Foc
