POWESHIEK COUNTY, Iowa -- Two people were killed and four people were injured during a crash in Poweshiek County Saturday afternoon.
Just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday the Poweshiek County Sheriff's Office received a 911 called reporting an accident at the intersection of Highway 63 and Ewart Road, north of Montezuma. Deputies arrived on scene and located two vehicles which has been involved in the crash.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the preliminary investigation indicates a Jeep Wrangler has been traveling eastbound on Ewart Road when it failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a Jeep Renegade that was northbound on Highway 63. Both the vehicles came to rest in a cornfield.
