Let’s set the scene: The Steelers, locked in a 14-14 tie with the Seattle Seahawks late in the third quarter, needed one yard near midfield to keep a potential go-ahead drive alive.
One measly yard.
Their coach, Mike Tomlin, has often said that championship teams should always be able to get a yard. The Eagles do it in their sleep.
Tomlin has often put it like this: “If you can’t get one yard, you don’t deserve to win.”
The Steelers had all kinds of trouble converting in short yardage last season, but that wasn’t going to be a problem anymore, right?
This was going to be a face-bashing, physical offense, dripping with “Steelers DNA,” a team with a young and allegedly talented offensive line, a thousand tight ends, multiple jump-ball options (as we saw earlier in the game), an allegedl
