The Dallas Cowboys have found a former No. 1 pick to help fill the void left by Micah Parsons.
The team is reportedly signing free agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, according to owner Jerry Jones via ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Clowney, 32, was selected first overall by the Houston Texans in the 2014 NFL Draft. He spent five seasons with the Texans, making three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2016 to 2018. He spent the next six seasons playing for five different teams.
Prior to last season, he signed a two-year, $20 million deal with the Carolina Panthers and recorded 5.5 sacks in 14 games. He was released by the Panthers on May 8.
Over his 11-year career, Clowney has recorded 58 sacks, including 9.5 in 2023 during his lone season with the Baltimore Ravens that matched his career-best.
