The past four Jets coaches have all arrived with the weight of a playoff drought on their shoulders and it has gotten heavier and heavier for each one.

Each man — Todd Bowles, Adam Gase, Robert Saleh and Aaron Glenn — took the job and spoke about how they were going to turn the franchise around, change the culture, make them a winner.

You have to have a certain arrogance to be an NFL head coach. You have to believe that you have the answers others don’t. You have to have so much belief in yourself that you believe you can convince not just players, but coaches, staff members and everyone in between to follow your vision for things.
