Michigan State was a betting favorite in all three of its nonconference games to start the season.

The Spartans won all three but didn’t cover the spread in any and will now be a double-digit underdog in their Big Ten opener.

Michigan State (3-0) plays at USC (3-0) on Saturday (11 p.m. ET, FOX) and the Trojans are early 15.5-point favorites, according to BetMGM and DraftKings lines on Sunday night.

After the Spartans topped Western Michigan in the opener and then edged Boston College 42-40 in double overtime, Saturday’s 41-24 victory against FCS program Youngstown State was shaky at best and injuries mounted .

A trio of offensive starters – top receiver Nick Marsh, running back Makhi Frazier and right guard Luka Vincic – left hurt and didn’t return.
