TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. —

An active brush fire was reported in Talladega County Sunday evening.

According to a social media post from the Lay Lake Volunteer Fire Dept., their crews have joined the Alabama Forestry Commission at the scene of the fire on McGowans Ferry Road.

That location is just west of Childersburg and east of the Coosa River.

The Alabama Forestry Commission reported an active wildfire about 8 p.m., but the size of the fire was not reported.
