A Clydebank teacher has begun an epic 18,000km cycle across the globe to raise money for Scots youth work charity Venture Scotland.

Connor, who has spent the last decade as a teacher, plans to cycle from Canberra Avenue in Clydebank to the Australian capital of Canberra in around 18 months. During the 18,000km journey , he will pass through 20 countries and cross continents.

Speaking about the trip ahead of setting off on Thursday, September 11, he said: "Doing this for Venture Scotland is incredibly important to me and makes this journey all the more worthwhile. Many of us, including myself, have struggled at times with mental health, connecting with others and in finding ourselves.
