Four drivers were caught allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, while a teenager was caught speeding. This comes following police checks across Canberra on Sunday evening.

Four drivers had their driving licences suspended, and one was found driving on a suspended licence. All five are expected to face court at a later date.

According to ACT Policing, on the evening of September 14, 2025, at a police traffic stop on Starke Street, Higgins, they asked a 26-year-old male driver to do a roadside alcohol screening test.

He returned a reading of 0.284, and his licence was immediately suspended for a period of 90 days before he was released into the care of a family member, police said.
