After Kingman’s City Council last regular meeting, which required the council to move through a lengthy agenda with more than two dozen issues to vote on. The agenda for City Council’s upcoming meeting is not as long, but could prove to be just as cumbersome as topics of taxation changes and strategic plans are up for discussion.
Council will be asked to remove a section from city code which currently requires voters approve increases to the Privilege and Use Tax at the ballot box. Approval of the repeal would remove Section 2-24 from the City’s Code, therefore giving Council the power to adjust the Transaction Privilege Tax that effect Kingman’s economic success without getting approval from voters first.
