Canada Post says it’s disappointed with the union’s decision to quit delivering flyers.

The flyers are used by businesses, organizations, governments and politicians to spread their message by means of mailouts.

It’s part of an ongoing dispute between CUPW and the Crown corporation which came to a head last December when workers went out on strike during the busiest time of year. The gap between the two parties remains substantial.

The company says it learned of the decision on the flyer mail only through the union’s news conference.

The Post Office says the decision not to distribute flyers will impact thousands of Canadian businesses that reach their customers through the mail. It will also impact employees who are paid to deliver flyers on top of their wages.
