KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Eagles put a positive spin on their ugly offensive performance against the Chiefs on Sunday, but they better not be fooling themselves.

Big runs from Saquon Barkley and defensive stops propelled the Eagles to a 20-17 win , but their passing offense was bad enough to lose. They are fortunate that Kansas City’s offense also struggled.

Before wide receiver DeVonta Smith made a 28-yard catch with 10:42 remaining in the game, the Eagles were reeling. Smith was brought down at Kansas City’s three-yard line, and four plays later, quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed for a one-yard, game-clinching touchdown.

It should not have taken the Eagles that long to complete their first big pass.
