When it’s all said and done, you need to play the games. Needless to say, two games in, it’s apparent that growth is necessary if the Denver Broncos are truly going to compete among contenders this season.

Sure, the Broncos were royally hosed by the referees, but as it’s been said for decades before us, you can’t put yourself in position for the referees to make the difference in a close game. On Sunday, Denver left the door wide open with clutch sloppiness when it mattered most. They dug deep and found a way.

Whether it’s a missed field goal, defensive ineptitude, an untimely interception, or any of the miscues that have plagued the Broncos in this young season, there was no shortage of pitfalls that led to the Broncos first loss of the season.
