SHAWANO, Wis. (WBAY) - Monday, the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay will name a new playground after a newly canonized saint.

The St. Carlos Acutis playground is at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Shawano.

Acutis was named a saint by Pope Leo XIV earlier this month. Known as “God’s influencer,” the Italian teen used social media and the internet to promote Catholic devotion and the Eucharist. He died in 2006 at the age of 15.

The school is the first in the diocese to have something named for the new saint.
