A major search on the River Leven for a missing man has entered its third day.

Police began scouring the river in East Dunbartonshire on Saturday evening (September 13) after a man was seen entering the water at Renton.

A multi-agency response was launched around 7.30pm, with the Police Air Support Unit, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service , and the Coastguard scrambled to the scene.

The man has not yet been traced. Police said he was wearing a grey hat and a dark grey jacket.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the man before he entered the water, or who has any information which could assist, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 2781 of 13 September, 2025.”
