The Statesville City Council will weigh in on a proposed data center on Monday.
Compass Datacenters is seeking rezoning and annexation of 350 acres on Stamey Farm Road to allow for a data center.
The rezoning and annexation were recommended for approval by the Statesville Planning Board in August, despite opposition from speakers at the meeting. Monday, the city council will vote on the first reading of the rezoning and annexation.
Compass Datacenters wants to build five buildings there , totaling about 1.34 million square feet of building space in size, as part of a campus with 200 megawatt power needs.
