“Adolescence” star Owen Cooper made history at the Emmy Awards on Sunday.
Cooper, who is only 15 years old, won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie prize. He is the youngest actor to ever win in that category, or any acting category, at the prestigious ceremony.
During his acceptance speech, the British teen reflected on how quickly his life changed.
“This is so surreal, though, honestly, when I started these drama classes, I didn’t expect to be in the United States, never mind here,” Cooper told the crowd. “But I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and you step on the comfort zone, you can achieve. You can achieve anything in life.”
