In today’s Mancunian Way we’re going to be paying tribute to Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton following the boxer’s untimely death aged just 46. As you’ll no doubt be aware by now the four-belt world champion was found dead at his home in Gee Cross, Tameside yesterday morning.
After the news broke there was a huge outpouring of emotion from across all walks of life, which told you something about esteem in which Hatton was held. At the peak of his powers he was a ferocious fighter and one of the most popular British boxers to ever set foot inside a ring.
