HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - Governor Josh Stein is expected to visit western NC to announce his latest federal budget request.

The governor said he is calling on congress to send more Hurricane Helene recovery funding to western NC and asking federal agencies to speed up the release of already-approved funds.

The announcement will take place at 10 a.m. in Flat Rock.
