GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB) - A woman from Memphis, Tennessee was arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into the Federal Prison in Grant Parish, according to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lametria Burchett, 32, was arrested for possession of suboxone with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and taking contraband into a penal institution.

This makes at least 34 arrests in 2025 of suspects trying to smuggle drugs into the facility. Watch our previous coverage below:
